Max is sitting behind a tree with his head in his knees
Amy approaches him and bends down to sit next to him, putting a hand on his shoulder.
Max lifts his head from his knees to notice the hand on his shoulder, then Amy.
Amy hugs him.
Max frowns through the hug — a bit confused as she lets go of him.
Amy smiles at him to show she’s sorry.
Max looks confused.
They both look at the ground.
Max is the first to break the silence.
Max: I thought you hated me.
Amy: Do you still hate me?
Max: No Amy I’ve never hated you.
Max pauses for a beat.
Max: Are you still angry at me?
Amy: Yes, I think I think it’s awful what you did. But I don’t think being mad at your friend for the rest of your life makes the situation any better.
Max does a double take.
Max: Wait. I’m still your friend? After what I did?
Amy: Your’e my best friend. I don’t think I can be angry at you forever.
Max grins.
Max: Your’e my best friend too.
Amy: No more arguing?
Max: No more arguing.
They both shake hands and smile at eachother.
